One typically looks to BMW and Audi for performance estates, but it should be remembered that Volvo pioneered the genre. The BTCC 850s were the stuff of legend, and Volvo’s hot V70s that followed were equally impressive. The P2-generation V70R remains one of the most compelling performance estates of its era, pairing a muscular turbocharged inline five-cylinder with the practicality and solidity for which the Swedish marque is renowned.
Finished in flat Passion Red with Atacama Tan leather interior, it wears a comprehensive suite of Heico enhancements including grille, front and rear spoilers, and benefits from a BSR ECU tune reputed to produce 340 HP with the top speed delimited. A custom four-piped exhaust, lowered springs, performance bushes, uprated ventilated brakes, and a set of genuine Ferrari 360 Modena alloy wheels shod in semi-slick race tyres complete a purposeful package.
